As my family grows older there are so many precious times
and Christmas time gives more than its share of precious moments.

Times when we are all together and can enjoy each others company as adults ( and one almost adult) with independent lives and loves

Times when my house is so full and the only space I can find is to wake early
in the precious just for me hours

There are times when people are coming and going and the goodbyes and hellos almost become one and the house feels so busy and then so quiet and mine again.

Time spent sharing a meal or a movie or memories or  sharing a childhood of photos and tales with a new person in the family

Time to take the chance to talk more deeply, just two of you and then the moment is gone.

There is a general reshuffle going on to day and my oldest is returning, perhaps to stay for a few months with all his gatherings of the past five years as he sorts out what comes next now that the thesis is done and the First Class Honours have been received.

Our little house is full to bursting with people and things and memories and more to come.

  1. Congratulations to your son. Merry Christmas to you and your family from the wet and windy UK. We are longing for the return if the light but meanwhile lighting all the candles and hunkering down with our returning family too.

  2. Lovely sentiments, Jenny......have a great one! (Doctorate on the horizon for your son?)

Thanks so much for taking the time to chat. I don't always have time to reply but I do read every message you leave.
