  1. very sweet...always a pleasure! Jenny...when I was littleI had a lovely doll that was very like your dolls to look at and feel except that she was a topsy turvy doll. One face was asleep and her clothes were a lovely warm flannelette, embroidered with flowers and the other end she was awake and wore a pretty spigged loral dress. She was unlike any other topsy turvy dolls I have seen...not a rag doll butwith a stockingnette face and body. She had blondie hair. I received her from some older little girls who had grown out of her and in turn I gave her away later. Have you ever come across such a doll? Do you think it would be possible to make one? And so you ever hold doll making workshops? I would love to have a go at making a topsy turvy doll for Emily. Alison B

  2. Alison, I feel as though I have seen a Steinerish topsy turvy doll but I can't remember where. I have never made one myself but I am sure it would be possible.

About dollmaking workshops, yes I do usually run at least one a year and this year had planned to go to Melbourne to run one as well but then my Dad got so sick around Christmas time and then passed away late March and I never really felt ready to do a class. Hopefully next year it will all come together again.

  3. Thanks Jenny. I know how disorienting and de-energising a parent's death can be. Maybe next year Alison

  5. Mary Ann, the doll's hair is made from a mohair boucle. You can buy similar from Winterwood here in Australia. It is a European yarn.
